FABUM and MMQ will present a theatre event, Le Salon, on Thursday, 31 May 2018, at 7:30pm, at the Arts Club of Washington DC (ACW), located at 2017 I (Eye) Street, NW, Washington, D.C., the former James Monroe House.

Michelle Washington, founder of MMQ, will direct three 10-minute plays: The Story of Our Lives by Madeleine Butler ;A Rustle of Wings by Linda Einstein; and Escaping the Funhouse by Tess Light. In an immersive environment of a historic home, guests will be greeted with libations and hors d’oeuvres.  ‘Refilling breaks between each play will allow mingling and the opportunity to enjoy the original work of local and international artists on display throughout the Arts Club.

The first play, The Story of Our Lives, starring acclaimed actress Jewell Robinson, with newcomer Morgan Booth, explores a generational gap between mother and daughter that escalates as Mom seeks her own adventures.

The next play, A Rustle of Wings, starring film and theatre actress Devin Thomas, with Morgan Booth, Jewell Robinson, and Shalom Omo-Osagie, asks the question, “What would you do if you encountered an angel? Or perhaps an unconventional spirit guide?”

In the final play, Devin Thomas plays Woman, with FABUM founder Jameson Freeman as The Barker in Escaping the Funhouse, where the Arts Club’s proscenium arch theatre space will be transformed as a sinister guide leads a woman through choices she must make, where she ends with perhaps the best prize of all at the play’s “funhouse.”

With coffee and tea, the evening ends.
